Jim and Gereldene Deagen will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 3. The couple was married at St. Luke Catholic Church on Sept. 3, 1960. Gereldene “Jerry” Fleck, born in North Dakota, is the oldest daughter of Loretta and Harold Fleck. James Deagen, born in Minnesota, is the oldest son of Mary and James Deagen, M.D.Growing up in Woodburn, they met at a strawberry patch on the Knolview Farm of Bernard and Gertrude Smith.
