WACA play Hansel, played by Patrick McNulty, and Gretel, played by Sandra Zamora-Negrete, are captured by the witch, played by Kelsey Fackrell, in the Woodburn Arts and Communications Academy’s production of “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.” The play will run at 7 p.m. March 11-13.
WOODBURN — The Woodburn Arts and Communications Academy Theater Department presents “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculation” by Don Zolidis at 7 p.m. March 11-13 at the school, 1785 N. Front St. Admission is $4 for adults and $2 for students. The play is a patchwork of skits woven together, attempting to encompass the 209 collected tales of the Grimm Brothers, including “Rapunzel,” “Hansel and Gretel” and “Cinderella.

WOODBURN — Junior Obdulia Valle will represent Woodburn High School at the Poetry Out Loud state competition in March. The competition, which is from March 12 to 13 at the Oregon State Capitol in Salem, showcases students representing 25 high schools through poetry recitation.
