St. Paul senior running back Cole Weisz (No. 24) bulls his way through Lowell defenders during first half action in Saturday’s semifinal playoff game in Salem at Willamette University’s McCulloch Stadium. Weisz had a big day, scoring two rushing touchdowns — a 20-yard run in the first half and a 19-yard run in the second half — and also ran for three 2-point conversions to help power the St. Paul Buckaroos’ 88-40 win over the Lowell Devils. Weisz finished the day with 189 yards rushing.
SALEM — The St. Paul Buckaroos are one giant step closer to a state championship in football, thanks primarily to the team’s stellar offense.
