Gervais High School students are honored at an assembly Nov. 15, when Principal Mike Solem announced the school was named one of 10 national Breakthrough Schools for closing the achievement gap. Students were excited to hear about the award, admitting they had become more self-motivated in recent years and were committed to contributing to being a "school of excellence," a mission statement Solem has emphasized.
GERVAIS — The good news just keeps coming for Gervais High School. On the heels of receiving positive scores on the state report card and being named the healthiest school in Oregon, Gervais High School is one of 10 schools in the nation to be named 2013 Breakthrough Schools by MetLife Foundation and National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP).
