Firefighters battle a fire that got started in a large pile of bridge timbers and railroad ties behind Americold Logistics on Silverton Road in Woodburn. Hubbard firefighters assisted with the Wednesday blaze, which was difficult to put out due to creosote on the ties. One Woodburn firefighter injured his knee, though the severity is not known.
WOODBURN — The Woodburn Fire District was called out on June 6 at about 2:40 p.m. to extinguish a stubborn fire in a pile of creosote-soaked railroad ties and lumber from a railroad bridge.
