The North Marion seniors excelling in school despite setbacks

Jaime De Jardin, a senior at North Marion High School, played timpani in the school band this year. A brain tumor wrapped around a facial nerve prevented her from playing her instrument of choice, the flute, this year.
In a group of horses, Jaime De Jardin is a zebra. Her surgeon coined that term in light of her puzzling medical problems that have required brain surgery.
