Local family part of over 1,000 volunteers that put on Civil War re-enactment

The Northwest Civil War Council put on a Civil War re-enactment over the weekend at Willamette Mission State Park, featuring nearly 1,100 volunteers from around Oregon and Washington. The Union Army’s color guard is flanked by the troops assembling at the close of the re-enacted battle.
Cannons blast, shots are fired and a bugle horn sounds the charge. This weekend, hundreds of people flocked to an event at Willamette Mission State Park, not just to experience music and shopping — but mostly to experience the live scenes of a Civil War battle.
