Major flooding averted

Woodburn public works officials work round-the-clock to keep drains free of debris and avoid much private property damage

Woodburn saw rising waters around the city and just outside city limits last week in what Public Works Director Dan Brown called a “25-year flood.” Waters along Butteville Road started to flood a Stafney Lane bridge but Brown said the city avoided any major flooding because they were able to keep the culverts free of debris.
WOODBURN — Area residents endured a 25-year storm last week, but Woodburn city officials said measures set in place kept major flooding at bay.
