Hubbard Fire Chief Joe Dryden calls it a career 35 years to the day he started

Longtime Hubbard Fire Chief Joe Dryden shares a quiet moment with his dog, “Laddie,” at the Hubbard Fire Station. After 35 years with the Hubbard Fire Department, including the last 18 years as fire chief, Dryden said he felt it was time to step away. Jan. 7 officially marked his last day as chief. The elaborate fire bell in the picture was presented to Dryden at a surprise party to honor his many years of service.
On Jan. 7, 1977, a rookie firefighter named Joe Dryden joined the Hubbard Fire Department, launching a career that stretched over three decades.
