Woodburn locomotive celebrates 55 years

Woodburn's steam locomotive, Southern Pacific Railroad No. 1785, has become a symbol of the community. This month, the venerable machine celebrated the 55th anniversary of its arrival for display in Woodburn.
WOODBURN — In February 1957 — 55 years ago — Southern Pacific Railroad donated a retired steam locomotive to the city of Woodburn.
