Local Boys & Girls Club has a major impact on Woodburn teen's life

Jose Guerrero was chosen as Youth of the Year for the Woodburn club after leaving a life of drugs and gangs

Guerrero, a senior at Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology, has been named the Woodburn Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Club, which enters him into a scholarship competition. Guerrero has overcome many barriers to become a leader at the club, including leaving behind a life as a gang member.
WOODBURN — In the past couple of years, 17-year-old Jose Guerrero has turned his life around, from being immersed in the gang culture to setting goals of going to college.
