Woodburn United Methodist Church’s new pastor, Mike Benischek, started on the job on July 2. He and his family, including his wife Stephanie, sons Christian, 8, and Gabriel, 6, and daughter Samantha, 3, moved into the church’s parsonage adjacent to the church. The family, originally from Nebraska, wanted a change of scenery and are happy to have made the move to Oregon. Benischek is the first WUMC pastor in years to make Woodburn his home.
WOODBURN — Woodburn United Methodist Church has gone through a lot of changes recently.
Not only does the building have a newly renovated sanctuary, but the staff has also seen a complete turnaround, with the pastor, deacon, organist and even office secretary leaving.
