Ben Cannon, Gov. John Kitzhaber’s newly-appointed education policy adviser, visits Natalya Afanasiev’s Russian bilingual kindergarten class at Heritage Elementary School on Thursday. Cannon was visiting the district to see how the district’s bilingual education is successful.
