Woodburn Police Department K-9 Officer Zach Williams and patrol dog Max meet with Leonard Black and Mayor Kathy Figley at Woodburn City Hall on Nov. 16. Figley presented Black with a certificate of recognition honoring Black and his late wife, Lavelle, for a $50,000 donation to the WPD’s K-9 program. Figley anticipates that the K-9 program will soon expand from two dogs to three thanks to the generous gift from the Blacks.
WOODBURN — It was a generous donation by any measure. On the evening of Nov. 14, Leonard Black donated $50,000 to the city of Woodburn on behalf of his late wife, Lavelle.
