Junior class volunteers serve ice cream and other snacks they brought from home during a community building activity at Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology. WAAST recently received a Celebrating Student Success Award from the Oregon Department of Education, and credits a lot of its student achievement to community building through daily interaction with a teacher mentor and other students.
WOODBURN — The Oregon Department of Education has named Woodburn Academy of Art, Science and Technology (WAAST) as the only high school in the state to be named a 2011 Celebrating Student Success Champion School.
