Portland State University student adviser Kanaan Kanaan poses with works of art done by youths from MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility. Each of the individuals has a piece already on display at the university. When their group mural is complete, it will join the other works of art in the Latino Success Center.
PORTLAND — Out of a kaleidoscope of darkness comes light. That is the message a Portland art teacher is bringing to a group of boys at MacLaren Youth Correctional facility.
