The A.W.A.R.E. Food Bank in Woodburn relies on the Marion-Polk Food Share for most of its food. However, with donations down and hunger rising in Marion County, the food share is at a critical juncture: It needs more food and money to survive. The worse the economy gets, the fewer people donate to food banks, organizers said this week. Unfortunately, as donations plummet, the need for food assistance grows.
