Shalom Holy Week Retreat
MT. ANGEL — Shalom Prayer Center will offer a special opportunity to experience “Holy Week Retreat: Breaking the Bonds that Bind — Moving into the Freedom of God” from April 1-3, which is Holy Week.
Sr. Jeanette von Herrmann, OSB, Ph.D., will present two biblical teachings each day that will center on the divine call to move from death to life as the passion, death and resurrection of Christ is remembered. There will be abundant time for silence, reflection and joining the Benedictine Sisters monastic community at Queen of Angels Monastery for the Liturgy of the Hours and the Paschal Triduum liturgies.
The retreat will take place at
Queen of Angels Monastery, 840 S. Main St. in Mt. Angel.
The cost is $55 per day, including lunch and dinner, and guests can attend any day or days they wish. Overnight accommodations are $46 per night, including breakfast. A $25 deposit is necessary with registration by March 29.

Immanuel adopts park
WOODBURN — Immanuel Lutheran Church is adopting Wyffels Park, a five-acre space just west of the corner of Gatch and Lincoln streets.
This is the church’s neighborhood park.
An organized group will be cleaning and caring for the part from 9 a.m. to noon March 20.

Zion Mennonite Concert
HUBBARD — The Knox Brothers will be giving a concert at Zion Mennonite Church, 6124 S. Whiskey Hill Road in Hubbard on March 14 at 7 p.m.
Members of the Pacific Gospel Music Association, the Knox Brothers officially began their journey in gospel music in 1968. They are a signature band of brothers, plus four-part sibling harmony.
Admission is free.
