Hunt
Marguerite Opal (Gordon) Hunt, 89, of Woodburn, died Jan. 22, 2010. She was born June 11, 1920 in Nickerson, Kansas to Earl and Daisy Gordon.
She married Elvis D. Hunt in 1939 and they had seven children. They lived in Kansas and Missouri before moving to Grandview, Wash., where they lived for 13 years before moving to Woodburn in 2002.
In Grandview, Marguerite worked at Libby’s for eight years. She was a housewife, mom and loved her flower and vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed reading, drawing, painting, singing and writing songs, two of which will be sung at her service.
She is survived by her children, Darlene Schneider of Woodburn, Leona Collett of Chewelah, Wash., Twylia St. James of Woodburn, Kay Hemstreet of Woodburn, Dave Hunt of Parker, Colo., Saundra Volland of Spokane Valley, Wash. and Dan Hunt of Post Falls, Idaho; sister Pearl Gunter; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Claude, Willis, Orval and Kenneth; sisters Minnie Shadwick, Thelma Bratcher and Lena Belle Grindle.
A funeral service was held Jan. 29 at Beavercreek Baptist Church in Beavercreek.
Interment will be at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.

Laurance
Debra Evonne Laurance, 56, of Woodburn, died Jan. 26, 2010. She was born Oct. 6, 1953 in Eagle Bend, Minn. to Roger and Muriel Wedner.
She married David Brent Laurance on June 1, 1974
She was a mother, farmer and owner of Cascade Hazelnuts. She was a longtime volunteer of Woodburn Gleaners and Hoodview Church of God.
She is survived by her parents, husband and children, Brent Laurance of Beaverton, James Laurance of Salem, Steve Laurance of Brier Wash. and Amy Hoyt of Seattle; brothers Rodney and Wesley Wedner of Salem and two grandchildren.
There will be a funeral service at Woodburn Hoodview Church of God on Jan. 30 at 1 p.m. She will be buried at Claggett Creek Cemetery.
