Gervais girl seriously hurt when basketball frame crashes down on her

A seventh-grade girl was slammed in the head and pinned against the bleachers by a basketball backboard frame

The gym at Gervais Middle School has been closed while investigators try and piece together why a basketball frame collapsed and hit a student in the head Tuesday.
GERVAIS — A Gervais Middle School student was seriously injured Tuesday when a basketball backboard collapsed and the metal frame hit her in the head.
