WOODBURN — A man was arrested Monday afternoon by a coalition of area police on charges related to a string of robberies stretching from Gresham to Salem. Michael Housen, 40, was arrested by Woodburn Police Department officers at approximately 2:30 p.m. Nov. 23 at Canton Gardens Restaurant in Salem, assisted by officers from the Salem Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Mt. Angel Police Department.

Housen is suspected of displaying a handgun and robbing the Dutch Bros. Coffee in Woodburn on Nov. 20, as well as robbing a Black Rock Coffee in Gresham.

Through tips from a news release video, and the posting of the Black Rock Coffee robbery to YouTube, Woodburn police officers were able to identify Housen as a suspect. While investigators were looking for Housen in Salem, it is believed that the suspect was committing robberies at a Salem Domino’s Pizza and a Salem Dairy Queen. A handgun was once again displayed in these Salem robberies. No one was injured during the robberies, or in the arrest of Housen.

When Housen was taken into custody, a handgun was not recovered. Housen is being lodged at Marion County Jail on four counts of robbery I, with bail set at $160,000.
