Milne files for re-election
The Woodburn native will seek a fourth term as MCC

Patti Milne
WOODBURN — Woodburn resident Patti Milne recently announced that she will seek a fourth term as Marion County Commissioner.
“I’ve given re-election a lot of thought as I have visited one-on-one with many people throughout our beautiful county,” Milne said. “The next few years are going to be challenging for all of us. It is extremely humbling to learn that people have placed their confidence in me. They believe my consistent, common-sense leadership is needed to keep Marion County moving in the right direction.”
Milne is a former school board member and three-term legislator and she was first elected as Marion County Commissioner in 1998.
“After winning my first election, my biggest challenge was
to bring Marion County into the 21st century, get the budget under control and build employee morale,” she said. “Success in these areas attracted new, highly-qualified department heads and others in upper management who have brought outstanding skills and positive perspectives to our county government.”
Milne said she believes she has made a difference as a commissioner.
“These important changes have allowed us to improve our county governance to be more accountable, more accessible, more transparent and more responsive to the citizens of Marion County,” she said.
The incumbent will be seeking her fourth term in office and says she offers the experience the county needs during this difficult economic downturn and recovery.
“Serving as a Marion County commissioner is a tremendous honor and a great pleasure,” Milne said.
“I work hard to deliver on the promises I’ve made to the people of Marion County and I am dedicated to providing common-sense leadership through the difficult times we all are experiencing.”
