This 90-foot fir tree will be lit with 30,000 LED lights Nov. 21 at 5 p.m.
WOODBURN — The Woodburn Company Stores will welcome the holiday season at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21 when it lights its 90-foot fir tree.
The lighting, which will involve more than 30,000 LED lights choreographed to flash to a medley of holiday songs, will follow and all-day celebration at the stores.
The free celebration offers a chance for kids to meet Santa and share their wish list, to visit with real reindeer, to greet a favorite costumed character, and to take in a performance by the Seattle-based a cappella quartet “The Coats.” These four harmonic songsters have earned national acclaim with appearances on The Jay Leno Show and at the White House.
Each night from 6 to 7 p.m. through Ch
ristmas Eve, the community can chase snowflakes as they blow through the air surrounding Woodburn Company Store’s Santa’s Cottage.
The Tree of Wonders musical light show will also run continuously through Dec. 31. All events are free and open to the public.
The Company Stores have also launched its annual holiday coat drive, which will help the non-profit Love Santa Inc. Throughout the holiday season, the shopping center will accept donations of new or gently used warm coats or jackets. With each donation, the Helly Hansen outlet will provide a warm hat to match.
On Thanksgiving Day, beginning at 10 p.m., Woodburn Company Stores will continue its tradition of Moonlight Madness, an all-night shopping event. The idea is to offer holiday shoppers a jump start on their Black Friday gift buying traditions.
