Update — Oregon State Police troopers have located the vehicle of interest and the driver involved in a Saturday morning hit-and-run collision that left an Aurora man seriously injured.

Benjamin Story, 23, of Aurora, was struck by a vehicle Saturday while walking Highway 99E near Lone Elder Road, just north of the Clackamas/Marion county line. Preliminary investigation by OSP troopers indicated the involved vehicle could be a Toyota model that should have damage to the front end and hood area.

Following the initial investigation, troopers learned of a 9-1-1 call, about 45 minutes after the original reports, by an individual who said he may have struck something along Highway 99E, north of Aurora. Follow-up investigation located a white 2007 Toyota RAV sports utility vehicle driven by Larry Scott Vang, 46, of Salem, and confirmed that the vehicle was the one that struck Story. Vang was en route from Gresham to Salem.

No enforcement action has been taken and the investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation should call OSP Senior Trooper Jason Lindland at 503-731-3020, ext. 457.
