Two local men arrested in Silverton on attempted murder charges
By Jason Horton
On April 23, Evsey Cam, 35, of Gervais and Aliksey Londura, 35, of Woodburn, were arrested after officers responded to a report of a burglary at Champion Homes of Oregon Redman Homes Plant at 1204 Mill St. in Silverton.

An officer interrupted two men stealing copper wire, and tools and power equipment, according to Silverton Police Chief Rick Lewis. The two men attempted to run over the officer with the pickup. The officer fired at least one shot during the incident, Lewis said.

At approximately 8 a.m., Silverton and Mt. Angel police and the Marion County Sheriff's Office captured Londura at the intersection of Hwy. 213 and Abiqua Road NE. Cam was on the run for nearly 12 hours before police caught up with him at 2:30 p.m. at Downs Road, near May Road.

Police from Silverton, Mt. Angel, Salem, Keizer, Woodburn and Marion County all assisted in the search for the suspects.

Cam is being charged on suspicion of burglary, theft in the first degree, criminal mischief, and possession of a controlled substance.

On Thursday, attempted aggravated murder was added.

Londura is being charged on suspicion of burglary, theft in the first degree, criminal mischief and also will be charged with attempted murder.

Neither Cam nor Londura are new to criminal activity.

Cam is set to go to trial in May on a charge of second-degree burglary he received in October 2007. Cam's court record shows a history of drug, theft and motor vehicle crimes committed in several Mid-Willamette Valley counties, including Marion, Polk, Linn and Washington.

Londura was also wanted on an outstanding bench warrant after he failed to appear for his scheduled arraignment on a possession of methamphetamine charge. Londura also has a history of forgery and theft, according to court records.
