If there was any doubt in anyone's mind, it all evaporated Saturday night as Gina Cloepfil was officially crowned queen of the 2008 St. Paul Rodeo.

There is an exciting court and plenty of events to attend between now and the national rodeo finals next December in Las Vegas.

Performing the honors during the coronation ceremony, Christina Delpozo, the 2007 St. Paul Rodeo queen, from Canby, fitted Cloepfil's 10 gallon hat with the queen's tiara. Cloepfil is a graduate of Carlton High School and attends Oregon State University. 2008 St. Paul Rodeo princesses Shannon Mitchell and Kimberly Ernst were also crowned by Miss Rodeo Oregon 2008, Nichole Andrews, a 2004 graduate of Scappoose High School.

Mitchell is a 2006 graduate of Newberg High School and presently attends OSU. Ernst is a 2005 graduate of St. Paul High School and attended University of Montana her first year and is presently enrolled in Central Oregon Community College, in Bend, on her way to becoming a certified radiologist.

The award-winning court (First in equestrian several times in Portland) will be attending many events, including the St. Paul Trail Ride and Barbeque on June 1, the Rose Festival Parade and the 73rd annual St. Paul Rodeo July 1 through 4.

"Everyone seems to be having a great time and the 10 rodeo courts and their members are great," said the SPR Queen's Coordinator, Dave Wilson. "What a great night for this great 80-year-old hall."
