Lindsay Keefer joined the Independent staff in early December 2009 to cover education and community events. She has now expanded her coverage as she's taken on the position of editor starting in February 2013. She previously worked for Suburban News Publications in Columbus, Ohio, where she covered two large school districts and local news for the west side of the city. While there, she received two statewide awards for a series of articles. Other experiences includes internships at Columbus Parent Magazine and the Corning Leader in Corning, New York. She has a journalism degree from State University of New York College at New Paltz, where she was also an active newspaper writer.
In her spare time, Lindsay enjoys traveling, singing, reading, trying new activities and spending time with her husband, Aaron.
