Mexican Independence Day

Tuesday, Sep 18, 2012

Doug Burkhardt

Music and dancing were among the highlights of the Mexican Independence Day celebration at Woodburn’s Downtown Plaza on Sept. 15-16. Hundreds of citizens came to the plaza for a variety of activities and entertainment. On Saturday afternoon, the band Inalcanzables del Norte performed with infectious enthusiasm punctuated with cries of “Viva Mexico!” Even vendors at the event were moved to get up and dance, including Sonia Granados, who was there to represent Centro Chiropractic, a Woodburn business. Granados donned a festive hat as she rocked to the live music.
