Doug Burkhardt

Three of the four candidate's showed up for the annual Woodburn Area Chamber of Commerce candidate's forum on Sept. 12 at Woodburn Health Center. Jon Pugsley (left) read a statement for Congressman Kurt Schrader, who was in session in Washington, D.C. and could not attend the forum. Kathy LeCompte (R-Brooks) (center), candidate for House District 22 and Fred Thompson (R-Salem), Schrader's challenger for the U.S. Fifth Congressional District, were on hand to answer questions from the moderator and the audience. Missing, however, was Betty Komp (D-Woodburn), who confirmed her reservation but didn't show up.
