Fire state fix

Tuesday, Jun 19, 2012

Doug Burkhardt

Subcontractor Sean Byrne, who lives in Canby, puts iron stock into place during seismic upgrading work at the Woodburn Fire District’s James Street station. The stock will hold u-bolts to tie the rebar to. The $310,000 project is geared to help ensure the station will remain standing during a major earthquake. The construction work, being handled by 2KG Contractors of Portland, is expected to be completed in early August.
