Jacob Haskett, a second-grader at Butte Creek School, was honored on Friday by Marion County Sheriff Jason Myers (right) and Commander Eric Hlad for his quick thinking when he found a gun last summer. The boy’s discovery helped convict David Hiron Brown, of Woodburn, for the armed robbery of the Monitor Inn last July.
