Robby Rodriguez (right), a senior at Woodburn Arts and Communications Academy, shows his artwork to his foster mother, Debi Haslebacher, at WACA Art Night last Thursday. Despite a childhood marred by drugs, gangs and then foster care, Rodriguez is fighting to beat the odds to prove he can make a name for himself.
