Wage theft is a big issue in Woodburn

WOODBURN — Woodburn migrant workers are facing a big problem: wage theft. And the issues aren’t going away anytime soon. “We’re seeing wage fraud in all sectors — service industry, restaurants and especially in construction — all phases of construction, painting, landscaping, roofing,” said Ramon Ramirez, president of Northwest Treeplanters and Farmworkers United (PCUN).

CANBY — Canby Police arrested a 30-year-old man Tuesday in connection with a drug investigation. Canby Police said that detectives arrested Jorge Felix and charged him with one count of possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine), one count of distribution of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) within 1,000 feet of a school and three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.
