Rojo, a therapeutic llama from Mountain Peaks Therapy Llamas, LLC, visited the school for the assembly and also to meet with students in the life skills, or special education, classroom.

A part-time lead lifeguard at the Woodburn Aquatic Center was arrested on Oct. 30 and charged theft. According to City Administrator Scott Derickson, Anatoly Kuzmin, 19, allegedly stole more than $1,000.


Mount Angel man killed in Friday accident

A Mount Angel man was killed Friday afternoon in a traffic crash along Highway 214 north of Silverton. Robert Benjamin Bernabe del Rosario, 35, of Mount Angel, was killed after he lost control of his 2002 Honda Civic approaching the intersection of Downs Road Northeast and Highway 214.
