Three youths who started WHS fire write letters of apology to community

WOODBURN — On the morning of May 11 three 15-year-old Woodburn High School students lit hand sanitizer on fire in a WHS classroom as a prank. Rather than having something to laugh about, however, the blaze quickly grew out of control.

The Woodburn Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying three suspects who passed counterfeit money to several local businesses. During the transactions the suspects can be seen smiling and laughing with employees.


Local Subway a target of armed robbery

Woodburn Art Center starts new year on a high note

WOODBURN — The Woodburn Art Center has received a $2,500 grant from the Fred W. Fields Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation.
